Official and curated incident feeds

Confirmed incidents come from the US National Interagency Fire Center WFIGS/IRWIN feeds, the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System, NASA EONET and the UN/European Commission Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System.

NASA FIRMS early detection

We ingest VIIRS S-NPP, NOAA-20 and NOAA-21 near-real-time thermal observations globally. Repeated, multi-satellite, high-confidence, or stronger clustered evidence can be classified as likely wildfire. Weaker activity remains potential and is available as an optional map layer.

Alert safeguards

A credible potential signal can alert only within 2 km. Likely and confirmed incidents can alert across the selected radius. Confidence upgrades alone do not create repeat messages; material changes can.

Coverage limitations

Thermal anomalies are not proof of wildfire, and no single official global wildfire API exists. Reporting coverage and update speed vary by country. Always follow local emergency authorities.

Maps

Address search, map display and reverse geocoding use Google Maps Platform. Required Google attribution remains visible on the interactive map.
