Standard sensitivity combines confidence with distance. We send SMS and email for likely or confirmed wildfires inside the chosen monitoring radius, and for credible potential satellite fire activity only when it is within 2 km.

Confidence levels

Potential means a credible but uncorroborated satellite thermal anomaly. Likely means repeated, multi-satellite, or stronger evidence meets our wildfire threshold. Confirmed means an official or curated active-incident feed reports the wildfire.

Useful updates, not repeats

Moving from likely to confirmed does not by itself send another message. We send a follow-up only for a material change, such as crossing a closer distance band or substantial area growth.

What clear means

Clear means we found no activity meeting the Standard alert threshold. It cannot prove there is no fire. If source feeds are unavailable, we show Data Unavailable—not clear.
